White Water and Blue Skies

Yesterday I went on an engineering off-site. Basically, Google pays for a subset of its employees to go out and have fun instead of coding for a day. A fantastic idea!

I opted to go White Water rafting rather than wine tasting (since I wouldn't be allowed) or go-kart and mini-golfing. I have to say, it was quite relaxing. Most of the river wasn't rapids, and our guide did all of the stressful steering. He'd shout forward or backward for one side or the other, and we would follow. No one even got thrown out of the boat. I suppose that's a good thing - can't be too rough on us software engineers.

Supposedly there are pictures, but I've yet to see them. I'll post them if I can.
