Monday night will be the peak of the Perseids meteor shower that has been going on since mid-July. I've already seen two shooting stars that I think have been a part of this shower, but I'll be going out to an empty field near by to watch the shower escalate to 90 meteors per hour tomorrow night.

The shower happens every year about this time. Last year I was stuck in Bloomington with no way to get out of the lights. Nevertheless, I sat on my roof for a while and saw no less than eight of the brightest shooting stars I'd ever seen. (Here's a time lapse video of last year's shower.)

So make sure to look up at the night sky tomorrow, wherever you are, and if you can see the stars, then you're in for a treat!
