Picnic in the Park

I came all the way from Indiana for the summer so that I can hang out with high school friends--so far we have had only one party. Would anyone be able to have a picnic at Roe park on Thursday or Friday? Sometime around noon? I'll call people sometime over the next week to see who can come. Perhaps we can go for a short bike ride afterward? Just throwing out ideas.

  1. I was just thinking about that today, how we haven't really done much yet. I would be up for that, but I'm not sure about my work schedule yet. I think I work 4 days next week, so according to my calculations, there is a 100 percent chance that I either have both or 1 of those days off. Which is obviously wrong. How would I go about calculating that probability?

  2. I recalculated it and got 6/7. That sounds reasonable. But it took me a long time to figure out, so you'll have to show me an easier way sometime.

  3. 1) Making another card sounds slam-bang to me. I'm going to be in Hays from this Sunday (the 25th) until Wednesday though, so we'd have to wait until after then.

    2) I'd love to go to the park! As I said, I'll be gone the next few days, but my parents will be home, so you can leave a message with them concerning details. I'm pretty sure either Thursday or Friday, any time, would work for me.

  4. Well, I guess the 6/7 was right because I have Friday off.

  5. I keep reading the first comment from Lucas, about how he got a probability of 1, "which is obviously wrong." For some reason, this makes me smile every time I read it. (The first time, I laughed out loud.)
